    Description

RARE Vintage Holiday Casino- Holiday Inn, Las Vegas Beer Mugs (Set of 2) There is quite a lot of history behind these glasses.
Before there was Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, there was another resort in its place on the Las Vegas Strip. In the early 1970s, a riverboat themed casino by the name of Holiday Casino was based at that location. The property at the time was next to the Imperial Palace. Shelby and Claudine Williams were the people who opened the place. They were the former owners of the Silver Slipper Casino. To draw people, Holiday Casino offered one-dollar bill coupons to use for bingo. They also had drink coupon vouchers. Through a variety of buttons and patches, it would seem the resort did a lot to promote itself in Las Vegas. There was even one button from the casino that said, “I am a Bingo Brat.”
Between 1979 and 1983, Holiday Inn Resorts bought 100 percent ownership of the Holiday Casino in Las Vegas. In 1992, the name was changed to Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The resort is still open on the Strip today. The casino then became Mardi Gras themed. In 1997, a grand re-opening took place and was attend by celebrities including Sidney Potiter, Sandra Blullock and Minnie Driver among others.
Today, The Righteous brothers that includes founding member Bill Medley and co-star Bucky Heard are the headliners for the resort. Additional shows at the resort include X Country and The Bronx Wanderers. Today, Caesars Entertainment owns the property.
