    Description

    The Maxim Hotel/Casino opened July 1st, 1977, and was a staple of Vegas tourism "just barely off the strip" (on Flamingo Rd) through the 80's and into the early 90's.  As larger resort style casinos took over the strip area, the Maxim was forced into bankruptcy and closed on August 13, 2001.  Much of the building remains to this day, as the Westin Las Vegas.
    Tupac Shakur was outside the Maxim Hotel/Casino, near the intersection of Flamingo Rd and Koval Lane, where the Maxim / Westin is located, when he was shot on September 7, 1996.
    This mug has a barely visible "USA" stamped into it's bottom, signifying it's place of manufacture.  It is not visible in the pictures.
