Antique RIFLE SCOPE - the way we found it - used and uncleaned. Marked on the tube: L.C. CUMMINS, / MONTPELIER, Vt. / PAT. JUNE ??? 1892 / PAT. JUNE 6. 1893. Some of the letters / numbers are hard to read. Looks to be a steel tube - 16 7/16 inches long - .810 diameter - with a nickel silver (or plated brass) eye piece. The 2 mounting rings (for dovetails) are still present. The outside tube has 4 empty screw holes. Looking thru - looks fairly clear and bright - the cross hairs are absent (gone). Both adjustment knobs turn - if they are still work correctly, we do not know. The last picture shows some Palm Fronds outside my Lanai - to show the clarity of the scope. Please realize that we are NOT experts in this field, and this antique Rifle SCOPE probably needs to be cleaned, adjusted and possibly even repaired - by someone who knows what they are doing!
